Fresnaye House 5
We designed the architecture, interiors, and soft furnishings for this new luxury residence to reflect a contemporary, light-hearted spirit. A crisp white and neutral base forms the canvas, brought to life with playful pops of colour in select rooms, bold doors and vibrant furnishings.
Guided by the client’s desire for a clean, uncluttered environment, the palette remains intentionally restrained, allowing colour to make confident, deliberate appearances. These accents take the form of unexpected, highly curated hues – desaturated purples, greens and other jewel-like tones that introduce depth and personality without overwhelming the calm architectural envelope. This sense of balance continues in the curation of artwork, where bold South African pieces introduce texture, dynamism and a distinctly local character.
The interiors were planned to feel open, uplifting and easy to live in, with materials chosen for their clarity and warmth. Soft furnishings introduce comfort without compromising the minimalist aesthetic, while custom joinery and considered detailing maintain a sense of cohesion throughout. The result is a contemporary family home that feels fresh, inviting and confidently individual – a serene backdrop enlivened by colour, art and personality.
