Kashimbila Island Hotel was conceived as a modern resort destination that celebrates the harmony between water, mountain and architecture. As the focal point of a masterplanned island experience, the three-storey hotel anchors the landscape, complemented by exclusive villas and pedestrian pathways that allow guests to explore the island at a gentle, unhurried pace. The architectural concept prioritises uninterrupted lake views, intuitive movement through the site and a resort experience shaped by tranquillity and immersion in nature.
The hotel programme unfolds vertically. A dramatic pitched roof rises skyward and anchors the entrance, creating a distinctive architectural gesture that sets the tone for arrival. The ground floor features a double-volume foyer, restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating, an infinity pool and guest rooms that open directly to the landscape. On the first floor, east and west guest wings extend from a central core, with premium suites positioned at the edges to capture panoramic lake and mountain vistas. The top floor is dedicated to a rooftop bar and lounge, offering an elevated vantage point and a generous indoor–outdoor flow.
Architecturally, the hotel is defined by clean lines, a refined material palette and a disciplined simplicity that allows the natural surroundings to take centre stage. Soft-toned finishes, crafted detailing and deep overhangs enhance the sense of calm while providing climatic performance suited to the tropical environment. Sustainability is embedded from the outset through passive cooling strategies, landscape integration and the prioritisation of slow-living experiences that encourage guests to reconnect with nature.
Throughout the island, intimate pedestrian pathways link the hotel to private villas and scenic lookout points. These movement routes were designed to minimise ecological impact and retain the integrity of the natural terrain. The overall masterplan reflects a cohesive vision: a luxury island escape where architecture, interiors and landscape merge effortlessly to create a serene, immersive and memorable destination.
