The interior of this Bishopscourt home in Cape Town's southern suburbs exudes warmth and sophistication, thanks to the natural beauty of timber-inspired flooring. To achieve this look, we selected Oggie Flooring’s Oak Crudo Living planks finished with Woca Denmark UV White Oil - perfectly complementing the natural oak joinery and indoor slatted cladding.

Our Client wanted to create a new water tower for

Our Client wanted to create a new water tower for the town of Jalingo in Nigeria. Rather than leave it purely a utilitarian structure, we wanted it to be an icon for the town, and a building that could be used for more than just servicing. We created a restaurant in the tower as well as a landscaped park around the tower, that connect the tower on the top of the hill, to the rest of the town below. ⁠

This contemporary, luxury family home in Fresnaye

This contemporary, luxury family home in Fresnaye makes the most of its location on Cape Town's pristine Atlantic Seaboard with four storeys designed to maximise the north-facing ocean views and natural light.

The house has modern clean lines, with materialities of stone, timber and granite, accentuating the natural beauty of the surrounds with high-quality natural finishes.

The home is u-shaped, centred around a courtyard, and features a double garage, gym, cinema, bar, living room, dining room, kitchen, pool, fire pit, domestic quarters, and four en-suite bedrooms, all with full home automation.

Industrial nostalgia comes to life in this 11-storey headquarters for e.tv in Cape Town's City Bowl.⁠

In early 2011, e.tv commissioned us to design their new headquarters on a new site in Gardens, Cape Town just off Roeland Street.⁠
⁠
Early design discussions quickly highlighted the notion that ‘growing up’ in the raw, industrial character of the Longkloof building, had had a significant influence on the collective psyche of the e.tv management and staff. While earlier design explorations tested lighter, cleaner and more contemporary expressions of commercial architecture, with full height, full-width glazing to capture light and views across the city, it was ultimately agreed that design proposals should reflect the station’s nostalgic origins, though reinvented and reinterpreted. ⁠

It was in the materials palette that we were able to find expression for that nostalgia by creating an environment reminiscent of the tactile quality of space that defined e.tv’s roots.⁠
⁠
The overall composition is a well-defined hierarchical stacking of layers vertically, with each layer clearly expressing the accommodation structure within the building.⁠
⁠
Internally, the theme of nostalgia and reminiscence of e.tv’s industrial origins is continued, though more subtly, through the use of painted bagged brick, raw concrete ceilings, and exposed servicing where possible. A blend of sophisticated, sleek materials with more robust, industrial components make an interesting bridge between the humble, rooted beginnings and the anticipated hi-tech future of the station.⁠
