This project in Jalingo, Nigeria has a most unusual brief; a water tower that needed not only an exquisite form, but is also to be the centre-piece of a landscaped public park and provide all the hospitality facilities both VIPs and the general public. Of particular importance to the project is the external lighting as the site is on a very prominent hill overlooking the city

Windhoek Conference and Hotel Centre

In recent years, sub-Saharan Africa has become increasingly attractive as a location for international conventions. Thus, our design, prominently situated just outside Windhoek, is for a large convention centre of international standards and a branded hotel, which is an integral part of the complex, thus, allowing easy pedestrian access to the convention centre.

Northern Cape School

As part of their CSR programme, BHPBilliton, a major international mining company, commissioned us to design a new school in the Northern Cape. Based upon the latest educational research, we designed an environment where children could develop and learn.

Green Point Stadium

Adjacent to the 66-thousand seater CT Stadium, Louis Karol and Point designed a smaller stadium that is striking, yet appropriate to local sporting events.

Cape Town Stadium

Although designed by the German architects, GMP, Louis Karol were the lead managing architects coordinating a very large team of local and foreign consultants, including Point Architects, and we are very proud that we delivered a very sophisticated product on time for the 2010 World Cup.

Grand Hotel De Congo

The two existing buildings of this Kinshasa hotel sit on a very large piece of land; our design enabled the optimum utilization of the site, creating a mixed-use complex, which includes hotels, apartments, offices, and a specialist shopping mall.

Virginia Beach

Situated midway between the Durban CBD and Umhlanga, this project is to transform a decommissioned airport into a new mixed-use precinct for KZN, comprising beachfront hotels, offices, and housing. The design is modern yet bio-climatically responsive to the very specific location alongside the Indian Ocean coast.

Liberty Headquarters

We were approached by Liberty Life, one of our oldest clients, for whom we have done numerous buildings in Cape Town and Johannesburg to design their KZN regional headquarters on the ridge in Umhlanga. Rather than being a high-rise building, we designed an energy-efficient bio-climatically responsive ground scraper. The building is clad in a deliquated sandstone, albeit articulated differently on the Garden Court hotel to the offices which are distinguished by the metal screens.

We won this commission in competition for this headquarter building for a major international energy company Chevron, which is situated in Century City. The façade is distinguished by its unique brise`soliel and its 5-star green rating under GBCSA. The building is designed around a central courtyard which has become the focus of company life in Chevron.
